Staging creates a mirrored, isolated environment of your production site, allowing for testing within the same multi-server architecture without impacting your live traffic.
Before You Begin
- An active live production instance.
Creating and Using Staging
- Go to my.websitely.com and login to your account.
- Select your live website instance.
- Navigate to the Staging tab and click Create Staging Environment.
- Once provisioned, use the Access Staging link to perform your updates or code deployments.
- After validation, click Push to Live to sync your changes to the production environment.
Best Practices
- Always test major plugin or theme updates in staging before applying them to your production site.
- Keep your staging environment password-protected if it contains sensitive data.
