Staging creates a mirrored, isolated environment of your production site, allowing for testing within the same multi-server architecture without impacting your live traffic.

Before You Begin

  • An active live production instance.

Creating and Using Staging

  1. Go to my.websitely.com and login to your account.
  2. Select your live website instance.
  3. Navigate to the Staging tab and click Create Staging Environment.
  4. Once provisioned, use the Access Staging link to perform your updates or code deployments.
  5. After validation, click Push to Live to sync your changes to the production environment.

Best Practices

  • Always test major plugin or theme updates in staging before applying them to your production site.
  • Keep your staging environment password-protected if it contains sensitive data.
