Nameservers tell the internet where to look for your website’s DNS records, effectively pointing your domain to the Websitely infrastructure.

Before You Begin

  • Access to your domain registrar’s control panel.

Configuring Nameservers

  1. Sign in to your Websitely Dashboard to obtain your assigned nameservers.
  2. Log in to your domain registrar.
  3. Locate the Nameservers or DNS Management section.
  4. Select Custom Nameservers and enter the Websitely server addresses provided.
  5. Save your changes.

Best Practices

  • Only change nameservers if you want Websitely to manage your DNS records entirely.
  • If you prefer to keep your registrar’s DNS, simply use A and CNAME records instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it better to use Nameservers or DNS Records?

If you want Websitely to handle all routing, Nameservers are easier. If you need to keep email or other services hosted elsewhere, A/CNAME records are recommended.
